So your stock IS-F is not sounding muscular enough for you? We've discovered a simple modification that will greatly improve the sound of your IS-F without impacting the performance of the automobile. Do no be afraid, this has been tested and will not throw any type of error code to your engine! This modification simply disables the hose that restricts the secondary intake from running at lower RPMs. The result, more air intake and a nice sound!
To do this simple modification you will need:
1. Electrical tape or vacuum seals
2. A Lexus IS-F
3. 5 minutes of your time
Simply pop open your hood. Look to the left of the vehicle. You will locate a small setup as shown in the picture. Simply remove the end of the hose and either add a vacuum seal as shown in the picture, or simply tape it up with electrical tape. We prefer the vacuum seal just to be 100% certain nothing can clog up the tube. You should experience the same throatier sound you experienced at higher RPMS, at lower RPMs. The efficiency of this modification has been debated, since nobody was really sure why Lexus built a dual stage intake, but the general consensus is that Lexus implemented this setup to preserve the luxury aspect of the vehicle. This in fact makes the car louder and muscular, which Lexus clearly does not promote. Some have debated that there is a mild performance decrease, but nothing has been proven as of yet. If you feel uncomfortable with the modification, you simply have to remove the plug or tape and place the hose back on. There is zero risk of damage to the vehicle with this modification, however we do suggest restoring this before sending the car into maintenance.
